Earlier this year, nearly two years after our mutual IG follow, I was lucky enough to capture Mars and Arkedabar in NYC for a Centerfold feature, where they discussed the inception of the inclusive Burlesque party known as Octopussy Lounge, their cosmic relationship and what's next for the troupe. 

Sex work exists in its own sphere entirely, and yet still heavily relies on societal standards of attraction and social favor to determine who floats to the top and who will sink to the bottom. What degree of responsibility do favored workers have to uplift and protect those less fortunate than themselves?

SUGAR's May 2022 Centerfold features Annie Brown, creator and founder of Lips, a zine-turned-app that is striving to change the way we interact with social media forever. With inclusivity at the forefront, Annie discusses navigating the tech space not only as a woman, but as an advocate for sex workers and the marginalized communities most affected by the censorship of mainstream social media platforms.

Full-time OF model, sex worker and SUGAR's very own, Vanessa Hinata, tried 4 subscription sites that could be potential alternatives for OnlyFans.

Hustlers the film is unfortunately a direct rip of the 2015 article, and almost verbatim in some areas. The choice to not have Smantha Barbash or Roselyn Keo be a part of the film in the Executive Producer role they deserved was a huge miss, and it would have given the film immensely more value than the mere $6,000 they offered Barbash for life rights. My heart lies, and always will lie with the real hustlers, but let's take a critical look at the film from a whore's perspective.

In this new series Sex (Workers) In The City (SWATC), we're reimagining the idea of Carrie Bradshaw's infamous "sex positive" column from the 90's, and taking more of a, sex-work-positive, Samantha Jones approach. This weeks piece is by Violet, the escort. She discusses some of her initial dating experiences as a sex worker, and how two entirely different reactions to her profession made her realize what relationships didn't served her, as well as recognize the partners that were able to accept and support her as a whole being. After all, a blow job is just a job.
